Sousa wins Valencia Open

Joao Sousa defeated Roberto Bautista-Agut to win the Valencia Open on Sunday.

The Portugese player battled back from a set down to defeat the seventh seed 3-6, 6-3 6-4 ojn the hard courts of Valencia in Spain.
Sousa fought off two break points earlier on the opening set, but the pressure eventually told as Bautista-Agut would win the crucial eighth game and hold serve to take the set.

Sousa was then on the ropes when he lost his first service game of the second set and the Spaniard had a 3-1 lead. But Sousa rallied to win the final five games in a row and force a deciding set.

The world number 46 continued his run, breaking Bautista-Agut twice more in the final set to take a 5-2 lead.

While Bautista-Agut would break back, it was too little too late from the hometown-hero, as Sousa served out the game to win his third ATP title.
