Reports: Paul Pogba 'desperate' to leave Manchester United, to pick between Real Madrid, Juventus

The latest word around the rumour mill is that Manchester United ace Paul Pogba is “desperate” to leave the club, amidst interest from both Real Madrid and Juventus.

It is TuttoSport who reports via Express that Manchester United have “begun to realize” that Pogba wants to leave during the January transfer window. This is after the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner publicly announced his keenness to “find new challenges” elsewhere in Europe, after three “eventful” seasons at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, it is also worth mentioning that Real Madrid had tried to sign the midfielder during August and September, as manager Zinedine Zidane was interested in him. However, the move failed to materialize due to two reasons – United’s relatively-high asking price of €180million, and the lack of interest from Madrid President Florentino Perez.

The 2019-20 season has not been kind to Pogba so far, as injuries have forced him to stay away from Manchester United for a major part of the season. It has hence been claimed that Los Blancos are all set to return to the market for him, as Zidane is yet to give up on his interest.

Meanwhile, AS claim that Juventus – Pogba’s former club – could also table a “lucrative” offer for him, by plotting to exchange right-back Danilo, midfielders Emre Can and/or Sami Khedira, or attackers Paulo Dybala or Mario Mandzukic for the 26-year-old.

Reports: Manchester United, Barcelona enter transfer race for 17-year-old Real Madrid target

According to the latest reports, both Manchester United and Barcelona have entered the transfer race for 17-year-old Eduardo Camavinga, who currently plays for Stade Rennais FC in Ligue 1. Camavinga is also a target for Real Madrid, as per various sources.

Daily Mail reports that both Manchester United and Barcelona are “keeping an eye” on Camavinga’s progress, as Olivier Letang, the President of Stade Rennais confirmed that he is preparing for talks with the young midfielder.

“If it only depended on me, I would like to keep him for another 10 years,” Letang said, before adding:

“Aside from that, there are approaches, a market and the desires of the player.”

“We will meet to discuss it a little later on – probably at the end of the season.”

17-year-old Camavinga made his first-team debut for the Ligue 1 side, in 2019 April at the age of 16. It was just four months earlier – in December 2018 – that he signed his first-ever professional contract with the club.

So far this season, he has made 16 appearances and has scored one goal till date. He also played for France’s Under-21 team against Georgia on Friday, after obtaining French citizenship two weeks ago.

Daily Mail further claims that Bayern Munich and Manchester City are also interested in Camavinga, but they have not made an official bid for him just yet.

Reports: Why Manchester United could end up signing Bruno Fernandes in January

Reports: Why Manchester United could end up signing Bruno Fernandes in January

It has been understood that Manchester United could end up signing Bruno Fernandes during the upcoming January transfer window, as his current employers Sporting CP are in a dire need to raise funds.

Express claims that as per O Jogo‘s report, Sporting CP are in trouble financially, and they desperately need to raise funds before the end of February.

The Portuguese outlet further adds that they need €65million (£57million), which can be obtained easily if they sell Fernandes to Manchester United. However, as they had previously demanded an asking price of €76million (£65million) for him, it means that if they complete the sale during Janaury, it will be for a reduced price.

Recently, Fernandes himself hinted that he would like to play for a European giant in the near future.

“I’m not worried at all [about transfer window speculation],” the 25-year-old midfielder said Portugal’s 6-0 win against Lithuania in the UEFA Euro Qualifier last week.

“Since 2016, there’s been talk about my possible departure.”

“I’m well, doing my job and doing the best I can. I have dreams to fulfil but I have no need to force my departure,” he further added, before concluding:

“I feel the love here and if I have to leave, I hope I leave good memories.”

Ed Woodward wants ‘world-class’ signings and academy focus as Manchester United net debt jumps £137m

Manchester United's Marcus Rashford (L), Daniel James (C) and Scott McTominay (R) celebrate against Brighton

Ed Woodward has laid out his vision for Manchester United, based on major signings and an academy focus, despite an increase in net debt.

Ed Woodward insists Manchester United want to bring in “world-class” signings to complement academy graduates despite the club’s net debt increasing by £137million in the first quarter of 2020.

United announced their latest financial figures on Monday, in which they confirmed net debt had risen from £247m to £384m, based on the three months ending September 30 in 2018 and 2019.

United put the increase down to the investment in new signings Harry Maguire, Dan James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the transfer window, which was partly offset by the sale of Romelu Lukaku to Inter.

The club was still able to post an increase in total revenue of £0.4m and no change in gross debt levels, despite the outlay on their three most recent signings and the loss of Champions League broadcasting revenue for this season.

United have been tipped to make moves in the transfer window in January, with strikers such as Mario Mandzukic and Erling Haaland linked with a possible switch to Old Trafford to bolster a forward line that has been exposed this season by injuries, most notably to Anthony Martial.

Executive vice-chairman Woodward has made it clear he wants to bring in elite-level players for manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, although he says much of their focus remains on encouraging the development of youngsters in the academy.

Describing the Premier League season to date as “mixed” for Solskjaer’s side, Woodward told investors on Monday: “Our ultimate goal is to win trophies by playing fast, attacking football with a team that fuses graduates from our academy with world-class acquisitions. We know this will not be achieved overnight; however, we feel we have made investments that set us on the right path.

“Over the last few years, we have significantly invested in our recruitment infrastructure to augment our already strong and experienced recruitment team, all of whom who are working to a clear philosophy. This is demonstrated by the signings of Maguire, James and Wan-Bissaka, who have all settled in well.

“We will continue with our strategy to promote the best of the players graduating from our academy together with material investment in the coming summers to strengthen our young squad further and challenge for trophies.

“We fielded the youngest team in the Premier League this season against Brighton and Hove Albion. We are approaching a milestone 4000th competitive game with an academy player in the squad.

“I want to reiterate our need for investment is underpinned by strong financial results.”

United, who are seventh in the Premier League table after 12 matches, take on Sheffield United on Sunday.

Reports: Manchester United star’s agent in talks with Juventus ahead of potential move

Reports: Manchester United star's agent in talks with Juventus ahead of potential move

The latest word around the rumour mill is that Manchester United star Tahith Chong’s agent has been contacted by Serie A giants Juventus, to discuss the possibility of a transfer during the upcoming summer transfer window.

It is Sky Sports who reports that the Manchester United winger’s agent has entered talks with Juventus, who hopes to convince him to move to Turin when his contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of the ongoing 2019-20 season.

The Dutch youngster joined United’s Under-18 side in 2016, from Feyenoord Rotterdam’s youth team as a free agent. Since then, he has made 68 appearances for the Red Devils across various levels, scoring 23 goals and making 14 assists so far.

This season, he has made nine appearances for Manchester United, including twice in the Premier League and once in the Europa League – and has scored four times and recorded two assists, all of them coming in the Under-23 Premier League.

Earlier this week, it was also claimed that Chong is no longer keen to renew his contract at Old Trafford, thanks to the interest in him from Juventus.

According to Daily Mail, the lack of first-team opportunities is likely to have forced him to demand an exit from Manchester United – although he is rated highly within the club.

Reports: Blow for Manchester United as Real Madrid, Barcelona join race for Serie A star

Reports: Manchester United fans demand Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to sign top target in January

Several areas of concern remain for Manchester United despite a big spending spree in the summer. The Red Devils have already lost four of their twelve matches in the league and are outside the top four spots. The English giants had pinned down one player as a potential target but now might face difficulties in signing him as Real Madrid and Barcelona have entered the race.

According to a report by Corriere dello Sport, via Mirror, Real Madrid and Barcelona have joined Manchester United in the race for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar. The Red Devils were reportedly keeping tabs on the Slovakian centre-back this summer and even had a bid rejected in the region of £50 Million before they decided to sign Harry Maguire.

Now, both Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are also after his services, as they look to replace key parts of their backline. While Los Blancos are looking for a long-term replacement for captain Sergio Ramos, the Blaugrana are hoping to replace Samuel Umtiti.

However, signing Skriniar won’t be easy for any interested club. The Inter Milan star recently signed a new long-term contract and is a key part of Antonio Conte’s side. He has started every game for the Nerazzurri so far in the domestic league and the UEFA Champions League.

Reports: Manchester United list two strikers as Erling Haaland alternatives

‘He means Manchester United’ – world premiere of film about legendary manager Sir Matt Busby

Manchester United are seemingly on the road to recovery following a poor start to the season. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men have already lost four games in the league this season but are still within range of a top-four spot. They have identified Erling Haaland as a player to improve their offence and have also listed his alternatives in case a move to bring him to Old Trafford breaks down.

According to a report by ESPN, Manchester United have also listed Moussa Dembele of Lyon and Callum Wilson of Bournemouth in their striker shortlist. Erling Haaland, meanwhile, remains the club’s key target up front following incredible start to the season which has seen him score twenty-six times in eighteen appearances.

Haaland is courted by Europe’s top clubs, including Juventus, Real Madrid, and Manchester City. Manchester United, however, have a slight advantage with the player familiar with head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The pair were together for a short while at Molde before Solskjaer joined United and Haaland signed for RB Salzburg.

The Red Devils, meanwhile, have reportedly drawn up an eight-man shortlist, containing the likes of Haaland, Wilson, and Dembele. They are also after England international Jadon Sancho and Premier League breakout star, John McGinn.

Harry Redknapp believes Manchester United, Arsenal will miss out on key target this season

Manchester United, Arsenal, and Tottenham have begun the season on a disappointing note. All three teams are currently situated outside of the top four in the Premier League table. According to Harry Redknapp, two of those teams will finish outside the Champions League spots at the end of the season.

Former Tottenham manager, Harry Redknapp, believes that Manchester United and Arsenal will miss out on top four this year. As per Redknapp, the two English giants will finish outside the Champions League spots unless there is a ‘big improvement’.

“Tottenham have it all on now to get in the top four this year,” Redknapp told The Sun.

“The only thing now in their favour is that Arsenal look so poor. Chelsea are doing great, they’re going to be challenging. Leicester are going to be bang in there.

“But you’re looking at Arsenal — and Manchester United — and wondering if they are going to make it this year. I can see both of those two not making the top four unless there is a big improvement.

“It’s been a disappointing season so far for Spurs. I really thought they would be close to Manchester City and Liverpool and challenging.

“It’s difficult. The players haven’t hit the form they did last year. I’m a big fan of the manager and hopefully, they can turn it around.”

Liverpool, Leicester City, Chelsea, and Manchester City make up the top four at present, with surprise package Sheffield United the closest challengers. Arsenal and Manchester United and sixth and seventh in the table respectively, behind the cut-off point by eight points. Tottenham, meanwhile, are fourteenth with fourteen points.

Reports: Manchester United monitoring Championship revelation ahead of possible move

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer provides injury update on Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire after Manchester United's win over Chelsea

Manchester United are already planning for the future, with the next transfer windows earmarked for several signings. The Red Devils have taken to a somewhat new strategy and have moved away from ‘Galacticos’ to focus on players which fit the team. One Championship player, as such, is being monitored ahead of a potential move.

According to a report by the Mirror, Manchester United are monitoring the development of on-loan West Bromwich Albion star, Matheus Pereira. The 23-year-old has joined the Baggies from Sporting Club de Portugal for the season and is helping them push on for promotion to the Premier League.

West Brom currently have the option to make Pereira’s move permanent for £8.25 Million – a clause which they could trigger towards the end of the current season. However, with the Red Devils interested, the young Brazilian might reject the chance to join Slaven Bilic’s men on a permanent basis.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are linked with several other names such as Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland, Jack Grealish, and John McGinn. The former Premier League champions’ somewhat new policy sees them focus on talent in close proximity, such as the likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Daniel James, and Harry Maguire, who were signed this summer.

Reports: Cristiano Ronaldo urges Juventus to sign Paul Pogba in January

Reports: Cristiano Ronaldo urges Juventus to sign Paul Pogba in January

The latest word around the rumour mill is that Juventus ace Cristiano Ronaldo has urged his club to beat Real Madrid to the signing of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

It is AS who reports via Express that Ronaldo has “recommended” Pogba to Juventus executives.

However, one might feel that the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner does not require many recommendations at Juventus, as he has already played for them before.

Ex-Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson offloaded him to the Bianconeri in 2012, and he remained with them for four seasons before breaking Gareth Bale’s world-record transfer fee to return to the Ole Trafford.

AS claim that Juventus could table a “lucrative” offer for Pogba, by plotting to exchange right-back Danilo, midfielders Emre Can and/or Sami Khedira, or attackers Paulo Dybala or Mario Mandzukic for the 26-year-old.

Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co are short of attackers, which means that they might find it hard to resist a player-plus-cash deal wich involves either Dybala or Mandzukic.

During the summer, Pogba himself famously claimed that he is “ready” to leave the Old Trafford after spending three eventful seasons at the club.

The Frenchman has also spoken about joining Real Madrid in what seems to be a “dream move” for him, but he has not ruled out a return to Juventus either.

Reports: Manchester United identify Premier League, Ligue 1 stars as Erling Braut Haaland alternatives

Reports: Manchester United identify Premier League, Ligue 1 stars as Erling Haaland alternatives

Until recently, Manchester United were ready to go all-out for RB Salzburg’s Erling Braut Haaland – however, Juventus, Real Madrid and Liverpool are reportedly interested in him – which is why the Red Devils have now identified a couple of alternative signings ahead of the January transfer window.

Haaland is already rated at more than £85million by his current employers, according to various sources. As a result, Manchester United are willing to explore the possibility of signing him during the January window and loaning him back to Salzburg until the end of the season.

However, if the Austrian side is unwilling to accept the bid, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co will have to look at other options.

Meanwhile, ESPN reports that AFC Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson and Olympique Lyonnais’ Moussa Dembele have already been identified by Manchester United as Haaland’s alternatives.

United are reportedly keen to sign either attacker provided they fail complete Haaland’s transfer from Salzburg.

The Red Devils’ other long-term targets are Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, Leicester City’s James Maddison, West Ham United’s Declan Rice and Aston Villa’s John McGinn and Jack Grealish.

Having signed Harry Maguire from Leicester City during the summer, Solskjaer seems to have halted the overhaul of his squad’s defence, instead choosing to bolster the attack and midfield during the January transfer window.

Reports: Manchester United's number one target for January transfer window revealed

According to reports, Manchester United have identified Leicester City’s midfielder James Maddison as their number one target for the upcoming January transfer window.

Manchester Evening News claims that Maddison will be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s next signing at Old Trafford, after the Norwegian completed the signings of Harry Maguire from Leicester City, Daniel James from Swansea City and Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace during the summer.

Solskjaer’s interest in young, supremely-talented English players has already been well-documented, and Maddison, along with West Ham United’s Declan Rice is reportedly Manchester United’s top-two targets right now.

Earlier in September, Maddison himself hinted that he is keen to make the switch to United.

“I want to play at the highest level my ability will allow me to,” he said, before adding:

“I like to think I’ve my head screwed on with the transfers I’ve made. I’ve played League One, in Scotland, the Championship and the Premier League.”

“I worked my way up and I would like to continue doing so.”

The 22-year-old midfielder has shone in the Premier League since moving to Leicester last summer for a reported transfer fee of €25million (£22million).

His value is now said to have increased considerably, and sources have claimed that Manchester United may shell out close to £80million for his transfer in January.

Reports: Real Madrid willing to include out-of-favour star in player-plus-cash deal for Paul Pogba

Manchester United star Paul Pogba reveals final verdict on his future amid strong Real Madrid links

The latest word around the rumour mill is that La Liga giants Real Madrid are considering a deal for Manchester United’s Paul Pogba – who they will look to sign by exchanging €80million in cash along with out-of-favour star Isco.

It is the Spanish news agency El Desmarque who claims that Real Madrid have not forgotten Pogba, after failing to sign him during the recently concluded summer transfer window.

The publication further reports that the Spanish side is open to exchanging Isco and a transfer fee in cash for the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner who is currently sidelined due to a recurring ankle injury.

Earlier last month, various sources had reported that United will allow Pogba to leave, if Los Blancos submit a bid of €160million in the upcoming January transfer window. It was also claimed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co want the deal to be completed in the first week of January, so that they can find a replacement for him by the end of the transfer window.

During the summer, the Frenchman himself expressed interest to leave Old Trafford, saying that he was keen to pursue “new challenges” elsewhere in Europe.

As Isco is valued roughly at about €60million right now, it remains to be seen whether Solskjaer will allow Real Madrid to exchange him for Pogba.

Manchester United handed major boost as Paul Pogba posts injury update

Manchester United handed major boost as Paul Pogba posts injury update

On Saturday, Manchester United superstar Paul Pogba took to Instagram to post videos of him undergoing fitness tests – and it can hence be expected that he will soon be back in the playing XI for his team.

According to Manchester Evening News, Pogba is currently in America where he is undergoing a fitness camp as part of his rehabilitation from a reoccurring ankle injury.

Earlier, during October, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer himself confirmed that he expects the 26-year-old to return to the club at some point in early December.

“He (Pogba) said it himself,” the Norwegian said, as he addressed a press conference ahead of the ongoing international break.

“It won’t be too long until he’s out of his cast. He’ll work hard during the international break and hopefully, he’ll be back.”

The midfielder posted videos of his fitness camp via his Instagram Stories, which can be viewed right here.

In the videos, he can be seen using an exercise bike as well as undergoing a number of different balancing activities.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner can also be seen saying that he expects to step up his recovery over the international break and that he believes to be on the road to a full recovery.
