Henshaw ruled out for six weeks

Connacht have suffered a heavy injury blow with the news that star back Robbie Henshaw is set for a spell on the sidelines with a broken hand.

The Irish international centre sustained a metacarpal fracture to his hand in the last play of Connacht's PRO12 victory over Munster on Saturday.

A Connacht squad update on Monday revealed that the 22-year-old is currently in Dublin for a surgeon review but is likely to be sidelined for up to six weeks.

A return to the pitch in mid-January means his participation in Ireland's opening Six Nations clash against Wales on February 7 is in doubt.
