Cudmore to leave Clermont

Clermont's veteran second-row Jamie Cudmore will leave the club at the end of the season.

Cudmore, 37, has been a major player for les Jaunards since joining the side from Grenoble back in 2005.

Clermont boss Franck Azema confirmed on Thursday that Cudmore would be leaving the Stade Marcel Michelin come the end of the 2015/2016 campaign.

"Jamie is going to finish the season with us but will no doubt bounce back somewhere else," Azema told Canal.

"Since he will be 38 at the end of the season, we can't afford to get it wrong by keeping him for a year too long."

Cudmore has no plans it seems to hang up his boots, with the experienced lock being linked to a two-year contract with Lyon.

He featured regularly for Canada at the 2015 Rugby World Cup and has won 39 caps since his Test debut in 2002.
