Thailand's Peamwilai Laopeam was comprehensively beaten at the Rio Games in the Women's fly 51 kg boxing event by Colombia's Ingrid Lorena Valencia at the quarter-final stage.
Featuring in her first ever Olympics at the age of 32, Laopeam gave a brilliant account of herself however her match-up with the ferocious Valencia was unfortunately a step too far.
The Colombian's sheer speed and aggressiveness seemed to surprise Laopeam as she was unable to get any sort of footing in the clash and eventually ended up losing 3-0.
She fought hard though and flew Thailand's flag with honour and integrity.
Valencia now meets with France's Sarah Ourahmoune in the semi-finals on Thursday.
