Archers representing Malaysia failed to advance past the round of 32 in the men’s individual competition in Rio on Wednesday.
Khairul Anuar Mohamad fared best, making it past the first round with a 6-0 victory over Andres Pila of Colombia.
That would be as good as it got for the 24-year-old, however, as he narrowly lost 6-4 to Germany’s Florian Floto in the round of 32.
Also in action were Muhammad Akmal Nor Hasrin and Kamaruddin Haziq, who were both eliminated in the opening round.
Hasrin went down 6-0 to Spain’s Juan Ignacio Rodriguez, while Haziq suffered a similar defeat at the hands of American Zach Garrett.
Thailand’s Witthaya Thamwong and Indonesia’s Riau Ega Agatha are both still in the competition, having already qualified for the round of 16 earlier in the week.
