Red Bull confirm F1 stay

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has confirmed that the team has officially lodged their entry into next year's World Championship.

The long-running saga regarding Red Bull's future appears to be nearing a conclusion following their application for an entry, but Horner admitted that their presence was contingent on finding an engine supplier.

"We've entered the World Championship," Horner told Sky Sports News HQ. "So as long as we sort our engine predicament out, absolutely we'll be there next year."

Speaking earlier in the week, Horner had said that he would like to wrap up a deal with an engine supplier before the end of the season. It is expected that the team will negotiate a new deal with current engine partners, Renault.

Horner said of an official announcement: "As soon as we've got something to say, we'll let you know. Anything else at the moment is just speculation. All I can tell you is we're homing in on something and as soon as we've got something to announce you'll be at the top of the list."
