Audi will "definitely" not be heading into F1 despite a change of leadership at the very top of VW.
Last weekend Volkswagen's chairman Ferdinand Piech stepped down following a clash with his chief executive Martin Winterkorn.
As Piech – and his personal feud with Bernie Ecclestone – is believed to be the reason why VW is not in F1, there was hope that the company could consider entering the championship.
But if they do, it won't be under the Audi branding.
"The current situation is that Audi definitely has no intention to enter F1," a spokesman told BBC Sport.
The spokesman added that Audi already had a "full" plate with its existing programmes in other racing categories.
