Esteban Ocon has the ability to match fellow youngster Max Verstappen’s achievements; that’s according to Force India deputy Bob Fernley.
Joining the Formula 1 grid as a teenager, Verstappen paved the way for other youngsters including Ocon.
The Frenchman was signed to Manor mid-2016 before joining Force India for the 2017 campaign.
Already the 20-year-old is bringing in the points for his new team with back-to-back P10s to start the season.
And while that is not near Verstappen's podium finish for China, Fernley believes his driver has the ability to match the Dutchman's achievements.
Asked if Ocon can match Verstappen, Fernley told Sky Sports F1: "I absolutely do. That's why we brought him on.
"He's with us for sure for two years and hopefully a little longer."
