Raikkonen still undecided on Pirelli’s wets

Despite Thursday’s play at Barcelona having been set aside for wet weather running, Kimi Raikkonen says it is difficult to give an assessment on Pirelli wet weather tyres.

The Finn was in action on the final day of the opening test, which saw trucks artificially wet the circuit in the morning and again after the lunch break.

This allowed the drivers present to lap in the extreme wet conditions all the way through to a drying track, testing both the wets and intermediate tyres.

Raikkonen, though, says it was not enough to gain a clear understanding of Pirelli's wet range.

"It's very hard to say it from the few laps that we did," said the Ferrari driver.

"It's always hard when you have to wet the circuit to run rain tyres, it's not the same than when it really rains, so I don't know.

"Hopefully, at some point we get a bit more running and then, for Pirelli, they get more information.

"For them it's hard as well as we haven't done any testing with those tyres and it's a bit tricky to make tyres when you haven't test them.

"Let's see, we have to be patient and, when we'll have to use them, we'll see how they are."
