Protests force Renault to change rear wing

Basketball 3-pointer: High school athlete with a disability hits shot of a lifetime

Renault will make alterations to their rear wing after being made aware that their current model could be in breach of the new regulations.

A number of teams, who have been left unnamed, lodged official complaints to the FIA within days of Renault launching their new R.S.17 and now the FIA has informed them that they must change the wing before the season starts in Melbourne later this month.

The specific component under question is a support feature that forms part of the DRS system which others feel is too big under the current rules.

Renault have made steady improvement over the course of the first week of testing, but will now have to spend some more time in the garage over the next few weeks to avoid any possible sanctions.
