Lewis Hamilton has said he has held clear-the-air talks with Mercedes over the winter following a bitter end to the 2016 season in Abu Dhabi.
The British driver defied team instructions as he tried to wrestle the World Championship away from Nico Rosberg, but he now feels that both himself and Mercedes are both on the same wavelength heading into the new season.
"It really does [feel like a fresh start]," Hamilton told Sky Sports.
"Naturally relationships never stay perfect, there are always up and downs. That's just the way of the life.

"Communication is key. In such an intense year, communication does get lost and at the end of the year it was great to be able to clean up the junk and start with a new slate.
"From the mistakes and the things we did wrong last year, we can hopefully apply to this year and make sure we do it right."
Hamilton was speaking at the official launch of the W08 at Silverstone, a car he has described as a "powerful beast" which has plenty of grip.
