As Honda's World Superbike team unveiled a Red Bull-liveried Fireblade, new signing Stefan Bradl says he is amped for the challenge ahead.
Bradl has made the move from MotoGP to World Superbikes ahead of this year's championship, teaming up with former MotoGP champ Nicky Hayden.
The duo will race the all-new Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP2, which will be decked out in the iconic Red Bull colours.
It is a challenge that Bradl is looking forward to as the former Moto2 champion adjusts to life in a new series.
"I’m really looking forward to the new season!" he said.
"It’s a whole new experience for me, and a new championship where I’ve never raced before."
There is, however, some continuity as Honda's partnership with Red Bull means Bradl's relationship with the energy drinks company remains on track.
"It's going to be a very interesting partnership with Honda and Red Bull, which is undoubtedly an amazing brand, and one that has been supporting me for my whole racing career," he said.
"I’m really happy to be a Red Bull athlete and even happier now that it has also become the team’s title partner. We have the chance to represent the brand in each and every event all around the world, so I’m really excited about that."
As for the season ahead, the German acknowledges that it will take some time to find the sweet spot with the new Fireblade SP2 but is hoping that Honda will get it right sooner rather than later.
He added: "We have a new Fireblade for the season, so it will take a little bit of time to dial it in but we’ll do our best to take it to the top as soon as possible.
"All in all it’s a great project and step by step we will make it a successful one."
