Rosberg: Bottas sought my advice

2016 World Champion Nico Rosberg revealed that his replacement at Mercedes, Valtteri Bottas asked to sit down with him ahead of his move.

Rosberg, who is now a Mercedes ambassador, said that he refused to share any secrets he had on Lewis Hamilton and how to beat him, saying that he will be rooting for both drivers.

"Yes, Valtteri asked to sit down with me," said the former Silver Arrow driver.

"I am happy to do that, but I will not give him any tips or give away Lewis' secrets, although of course, I know him very well. I will remain neutral."

Admitting that he will always be a fan of Formula 1, the German is eager for the season to get underway and also added that he will probably come to some of the races.

"I will, of course, continue to follow developments and I'm looking forward to seeing the new car and will definitely be at the track for five or six races," he said.

"I will continue to work with the sponsors.

"We are simply the best team and have the best chance. But Red Bull and Ferrari can never be underestimated.

"I'm still a huge fan of our sport and I'm already excited about the first tests.”
