No room at the Red Bull inn for Vettel

Christian Horner has ruled out the possibility of re-signing Sebastian Vettel in 2018, saying there is "no room at the inn" for the four-time World Champion.

After a wretched 2014 season, the first year in which he failed to win a grand prix with Red Bull Racing, Vettel opted to swap to Ferrari.

That move, though, has yet to yield the success that he had hoped for.

Although Vettel claimed three races victories in his first season with the Scuderia, he has yet to get off the mark in this campaign and has managed just one podium finish in the last ten races.

His lack of results has seen an increase in publicly stated criticism from team boss Maurizio Arrivabene.

Horner concedes that life at Ferrari is rather different than it was at Red Bull.

"All drivers are quite sensitive individuals and they have to feel the team around them and the support," he told Sky Sports F1.

"Life is a little bit different for Sebastian at the moment and he is working hard to try to get on top of that.

"But there is a different pressure at Ferrari than there was when he was with us at Red Bull so it is a different experience for him."

But should the German, who won his four Drivers' Championships with Red Bull, come to regret his move, Horner has made it clear that there is no point knocking on his door.

"That's his business," he added. "We are committed with our drivers for the next couple of years so no room at the inn."
