Valentino Rossi can’t wait to get ‘back on track’ when the Brno grand prix gets underway this weekend in the Czech Republic.
The nine-time MotoGP World Championship winner is also looking forward to testing himself against Jorge Lorenzo to see if he can match his team-mate for pace.
Lorenzo got the better of the Italian in Brno last season on his Movistar Yamaha and only last weekend Lorenzo finished ahead of Rossi at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.
Marc Marquez is still 43 points clear at the top of the 2016 World Championship standings from Lorenzo in second and Rossi in third.
“I like that we go back on track immediately. In Austria I wanted to get on the podium but I wasn’t able to so unfortunately. Anyway, it was a good race,” Rossi said.
“After the tests we were a little bit in trouble but during the race we didn’t do so badly. Now we go to Brno, a track that we know well and that I like very much.
“Last year Jorge was much faster than me and I’m curious to see if this year I will do better,” the Italian added. “We are working well and the Brno GP is close. I want to get back on track.”
