Haas are expecting to confirm their 2017 driver line-up in the wake of September's Italian Grand Prix; that's according to Guenther Steiner.
This season Romain Grosjean and Esteban Gutierrez lined up on the grid for Haas as they contested the team's debut campaign.
But while Grosjean is expected to stay on for a second season, having missed out on a Ferrari drive, there are questions about Gutierrez's future.
The Mexican racer has yet to get off the mark with Grosjean scoring all 28 points for Haas.
Steiner is hoping to make an announcement in September, saying Haas would rather have their line-up resolve than wait for the market to play out.
"I don't think we want to wait this long, because you risk it," team principal Steiner told Motorsport.com. "If you know where you are, it's better than having uncertainty.
"We are very confident we can say it after Monza. We do what we want to do.
"It gives the team certainty and you can focus on next year, on the car, and on performance."
