Haslam believes the track's characteristics and the hot conditions will allow his RSV4 RF to out-perform his rivals.
"I'm confident both because of the characteristics of the track and the high temperatures that we'll find at Laguna Seca [will suit Aprilia]," Haslam said.
At last year's race, the factory Aprilia squad had a better than expected weekend, as Marco Melandri grabbed the win in the first race and 2014 champion Sylvain Guintoli finished on the podium twice.
"The American round is always a special race and it marks the beginning of the final stretch of the season," he added
"On top of that we've been on a four week break, so I can't wait to get back to work with my guys and I'm happy to do it in front of the American fans."
