Back on the podium in Hungary for the third year in succession, Daniel Ricciardo says he had "fun" on Sunday.
The Aussie took the fight to Mercedes, passing Nico Rosberg into the first corner to run second.
However, it was a brief stint as the German fought back almost immediately to relegate Ricciardo to third.
From there the Red Bull racer set about staying in touch with the Mercedes leaders and was able to make inroads in the middle stint.
Ricciardo, though, lacked the pace needed to claw back those final few seconds and finished the grand prix in third place.
"It's great to have another podium this year," he said.
"Obviously the first one was a bit bittersweet but this one I can definitely enjoy.
"For sure the smile is definitely back on my face.
"I am happy to be here today, it is three years in a row on the podium at this circuit.
"It has been good to me.
"The fans are amazing so thank you everyone, thanks to the team – we are continually getting better so that is great.
"I am having fun."
Sunday's 15 points means Ricciardo is now up to third in the Drivers' Championship, 77 points behind race winner Lewis Hamilton.
