‘Handicap’ hurting Dovizioso and Ducati

Andrea Dovizioso has urged Ducati to get to the bottom of their problems with the GP15 as the riders have quite a "big handicap" in races.

After a blistering start to the season that saw Dovizioso and Andrea Iannone secure six podiums between them in the first seven races, the Bologna-based squad have slipped backwards.

Dovizioso, in particular, has struggled as he has failed to see the chequered flag in three of his last six races.

Although he managed to complete Sunday's race in the Czech Republic in sixth place, the Italian has bemoaned his recent woes.

"I am quite satisfied with how the race went because before the start I didn’t have a great feeling with my GP15 and I was quite some way off the race pace," he said.

"However we must find out how to improve the front because the bike does not turn the way we would like it to: this is a big handicap because I am not able to push hard, and that is what happened to me today in the race.

"Next week we will be testing at Misano which will surely also be useful to try and solve these problems."
