Pata Yamaha WSBK Team rider Alex Lowes underwent a medical check-up after his crash while testing at Jerez last week and will begin rehabilitation to his injured shoulder in January.
Lowes injured himself on Turn three and was left with ‘severely compromised movement’ to his left shoulder and arm after crashing on the left-handed corner at the Jerez circuit.
The rider was unable to do any more testing with two days remaining and returned to the UK to see doctors.
A team spokesperson confirmed to WorldSBK.com that Lowes would start rehab to the injured shoulder in January.
“Alex has been for checks and is recuperating before commencing rehab in the New Year,” a team spokesperson told WorldSBK.com.
Lowes will ride alongside 2014 WSBK World Champion Sylvain Guintoli next year on the latest YZF-R1 bike.
