Ducati Team rider Andrea Iannone will be hoping to take his Mugello podium form to this weekend’s MotoGP Championship race at the Grand Prix of Catalunya.
At the last MotoGP race in the Italian GP at Mugello, the 26-year-old Iannone finished third behind race winner Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo and Marc Marquez, after qualifying third quickest.
In an interview with GPOne, the Italian said he really liked the Catalunya circuit, where he won a Moto2 race in 2012.

“This weekend I’ll try to exploit the positive moment of two weeks ago. I really like the track and won a race there in Moto2 in 2012,” said Iannone.
“Unfortunately, I’ve always struggled in MotoGP but this year the situation’s totally different, considering we have different tyres and electronics.
“The Desmosedici GP has proved to be a really competitive bike, so I’m sure we can make a great race”
Ducati teammate Andrea Dovizioso, who finished fourth at Mugello, said the Montmeló circuit in Barcelona was one of his favourites and he could not wait to be racing there again.
“The Montmeló circuit is one of the world’s most beautiful, I’m very happy to race there this weekend,” said Dovizioso.
“It will be important to understand how the tyres behave on this tough track, in any case, my feeling with the Desmosedici GP is really good.
“We need to improve certain aspects because we are consistently fast in practice but then are unable to match this during the race on Sunday.”
