Marc Marquez topped the timesheets after Friday’s second practice ahead of this weekend’s Argentinian MotoGP Grand Prix.
The biggest story of the day, however, was reserved for reigning world champion Jorge Lorenzo, who could only manage 14th place.
Lorenzo looked to struggle with the front end of his Yamaha, and was a full 1.240 seconds off Marquez’s leading time.
Honda appear to have fully overcome their pre-season struggles with MotoGP’s new control electronics, with Marquez grabbing a podium spot in Qatar and again showing impressive pace this week.
After finishing second in FP1 earlier in the day, he led the way in the afternoon after a 1m41.579s, with Honda occupying four of the top five places.

Lorenzo, meanwhile, has plenty of work ahead of him if he’s to salvage a good qualifying position, particularly as the forecast is calling for rain on Saturday, which could complicate matters.
Marquez was followed by team-mate Dani Pedrosa in second, 0.025s behind, while Maverick Vinales continued to impress as he grabbed the third fastest time for Suzuki. Both Suzuki riders took a tumble during the session, but Vinales managed to recover with little damage done.
Marc VDS’s Jack Miller fourth and LCR’s Cal Crutchlow were fourth and fifth, followed by Scott Redding in sixth for Pramac Ducati.
Valentino Rossi crossed the line in seventh, which was better than team-mate Lorenzo, although he would have been hoping for more.
