Vettel: Sounds a bit more like F1

A critic of F1’s lack of noise over the past two years, Sebastian Vettel said it was “nice” to note that it is beginning to sound “a bit more like” Formula 1.

Ahead of this year’s championship the powers-that-be brought in a new regulation aimed at increasing the noise volume.

For 2016 all cars must have a separate exhaust wastegate tailpipe through which only wastegate exhaust gases must pass.

But while Vettel says more still needs to be done, the Ferrari driver reckons it is an improvement on last year’s silence.

“I can say it is nice to have a bit more sound coming back,” he said.

“It is still not as loud as it could or should be but it is a lot better than it was, now sounds a bit more like Formula One.”
