Alexander Rossi has revealed that his talks with Manor for a 2016 drive are on-going and that “things are looking positive.”
The American made the step up to a Formula 1 race seat last season with the backmarker team, replacing Roberto Merhi at five grand prix’.
Rossi put in a solid showing, beating team-mate Will Stevens in three outings while also matching Manor’s best result of the season with a P12 at the United States Grand Prix.
He is keen to continue with the team, who will be powered by Mercedes this season.
“Talks are every day. I think the deadline is really when cars roll in Barcelona in a couple of weeks,” Rossi told Sky Sports News HQ.
“Things sometimes get pushed out in this sport and it is something I am used to and hopefully it doesn’t go on to much longer.
“Things are looking positive and hopefully, we get it done very soon.”
Manor is the only outfit who has yet to announce its driver line-up for the 2016 championship.
