Sam Bird clinched his third Formula E win at the Puerto Madero Street Circuit at the 2016 Buenos Aries ePrix on Saturday.
The Brit had impressed earlier in the day by earning DS Virgin Racing Team their first pole position after he was fastest in qualifying.
Bird then took his form to the race, where a faultless drive saw him lead from start to finish.
Fans in the Argentine city were also treated to a remarkable race from championship leader Sebastian Buemi, who was forced to start at the back of the grid after an accident during qualifying.
Aided by a stint with the Safety Car after Antonio Felix da Costa’s Team Aguri car came to a halt on the track, the Swiss worked his way through the field and was involved with a thrilling battle for second with Lucas di Grassi of ABT Schaeffler.
After passing the Brazilian on lap 28, Buemi honed in on Bird but the Virgin driver held on for a thrilling win, while di Grassi would take third.
“I really look forward to watching that race back…it was just all a blur,” quipped the 29-year-old in the post-race press conference.
Meanwhile, Buemi heaped praise on Bird for his flawless race.
“Bird had great pace and made no mistakes, he deserves this win,” said the Renault e.Dams driver.
