Rosberg: Postponement was only decision

Nico Rosberg believes the FIA didn't have much of a choice but to push back qualifying for the United States GP until Sunday morning.

For the first time since the 2013 Australian GP, the qualifying session and the race will be held on the same day after heavy thunderstorms in and around Austin forced officials to postpone qualy.

It's been a pretty wet weekend so far with limited running in both FP1 and FP3 while Friday afternoon's FP2 was also a complete washout.

"It is the only decision that could be taken because it was not possible to drive out there," Rosberg is quoted as saying by Motorsport.com

"Let's hope we can drive tomorrow morning, that will be important. Other than that – this morning it was still raining a lot and it was sort of driveable. So it doesn't take much.

"It just needs to calm down a little bit and we should be able to get out there no problem."
