Daniel Ricciardo is determined to make the most of his good grid position for the United States Grand Prix.
After Saturday's qualifying session was postponed to Sunday morning due to thunderstorms in Texas, Ricciardo made the most of the wet conditions as he was fastest in Q2.
He was third fastest behind the Mercedes cars of Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton in Q2 and that's where he will start the race as was Q3 called off due to the poor conditions.
Asked if he thought pole position was on he replied: "Q1 was looking good. We were looking comfortable. Q2 there was a little bit more water on the track and it seemed like we struggled a little bit more compared to the Mercs, who found a little bit more speed.
Third is not bad and puts us in a good place for the race. A few faster cars are a bit further back than what they would be in dry conditions. It's a good opportunity for us today to try and capitilise.
"I don't know what the weather is going to do, but we are going to have a lot of fun in a few hours."
