Ioda switches to WSBK Championship

MotoGP team IodaRacing will switch and compete in the 2016 World Superbike Championship in a deal that will keep Aprilia machinery on the grid this season.

IodaRacing have contracted ex-MotoGP rider Alex de Angelis and reigning STK1000 winner Lorenzo Savadori for 2016.

The Aprilia RSV4 RF will be the bike used by the Savadori and de Angelis and their first task will be the final pre-season test at Phillip Island, before the 2016 WSBK season gets underway on February 27.

This means that seven manufacturers will be represented in the upcoming season with Yamaha returning at the expense of Suzuki.
