French car manufacturer Renault reaffirmed its commitment to Formula E during the presentation of their Formula 1 challenger on Wednesday.
Renault will continue the development of electric powertrains and will participate in the all-electric series for at least another two years.
The importance of the Formula E brand for Renault is clearly illustrated by the experience of their management team, which comprises of four-time F1 champion Alain Prost and Jean-Paul Driot, who serves as the e.dams team principal.
Renault Sport Racing’s focus over the next two seasons will be the development and full powertrains to its Formula E team, which consists of an electric motor and gearbox.
Ultimately their aim is to win both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ titles.
