Rain hampers first WSBK winter test

Tom Sykes and Chaz Davies spent more time in their garages than on the track as WSBK winter testing began at MotorLand Aragon.

The duo were taking part in the first of two days of private testing at the Spanish circuit.

However, their running was hampered by the rain.

Both the Kawasaki rider and his Ducati counterpart were able to get in some laps on Wednesday morning before the rain came down.

Davies did try for a few laps in the wet while Sykes made a very late appearance.

For the most part, though, the afternoon was a washout.

"We brought here many 2016 parts as our goal is to evaluate them one by one, in order to understand the eventual benefits of each upgrade. We are working on electronics, chassis and weight distribution," Davies told the WSBK website.

"The weather did not help today, but we still have tomorrow and some other outings before the end of the year."
