Yamaha Motor Finance and Yamaha Motorcycle Insurance will be sponsoring Australia’s World Superbike round at Phillip Island from February 26-28.
The announcement comes hot on the heels of September's announcement by Yamaha that they would be making a return to World Superbike racing in 2016.
The sponsorship deal was confirmed by General Manager of Yamaha Motor Finance Australia, Brad Ryan, who said that the plan was to use the Phillip Island event to promote both the local YMF and YMI brand and the newly-introduced Yamaha Financial Services global brand.
“Yamaha Motor Finance and Yamaha Motorcycle Insurance offer unique products offering simplicity and convenience that are only available through Yamaha dealer," he said.
“Yamaha is the only motorcycle manufacturer backed finance and insurance organisation in Australia. By supporting high profile race series and teams, we anticipate our customers will feel more comfortable doing business with us.”
Yamaha Motor Europe in collaboration with Crescent Racing will run two YZF-R1’s in next year’s series. The bikes will be ridden by Sylvain Guintoli and Alex Lowes.
