Rousey’s Shakespearean sadness

It's fair to say that Ronda Rousey has found the last few months pretty tough. Prior to UFC 193 in November she had the world at her feet; a title belt, a movie career and sponsors throwing money at her. While she still has two of those, the devastating loss of her title to Holly Holm has hit Rousey hard.

Rousey hasn't had much to say to the press since her defeat in Australia, but she did tell ESPN how she was feeling, and it wasn't pretty: she's “really f***ing sad."

Time doesn't seem to be doing much to heal Rousey's wounds either, with the 28-year-old channelling William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night on Monday.

That was a little depressing…

Rousey did have reason to smile recently – and show some of her class – when she accepted an invitation from a United States marine to attend the Marine Corps Ball.

A smile and fan adoration. All is not lost.
