Ji claims LPGA Taiwan Championship

South Korean Ji Eun-hee broke an eight-year tournament drought when she won the Swinging Skirts LPGA Taiwan Championship in Taipei by six strokes with a 17-under-par 271 total on Sunday.

Ji’s final round was a bogey-free seven under 65 at the Miramar Resort and Country Club.

In second spot, six strokes back was New Zealand’s Lydia Ko who also fired a bogey-free 65.

In third place tied at seven under were – Ryu So-yeon (South Korea), Lizette Salas (US), Carlota Ciganda (Spain), Shanshan Feng (China) and Sweden’s Madelene Sagström.

Through three rounds, Ji was never really threatened, making the turn at 13-under with three birdies, still six better than Ko.

Then at the 10th, she made another birdie to open a seven-shot lead. Ko then pulled a shot back on the 11th but never came close for the remainder of the round.
