Kaymer wary of course changes

The German won the tournament in 2008, 2010 and 2011, as well as finishing second in 2009, but he believes the course now provides a different test following a number of changes in recent years.

Since his last victory at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club, Kaymer has missed the cut in 2012, finished in a tie for eighth in 2013 and come joint-31st in 2014, and the US Open champion is now looking forward to kicking off his 2015 campaign.

???It’s always a good start to the season,??? Kaymer told the European Tour???s official website.

???I’ve had success here, but the golf course has changed quite a lot – it’s tough to say if it became more difficult or easier.??

???For me it became a little bit more complicated. They have changed a few greens, a few tee boxes, so therefore it’s not a given that I will win this.???

Sweden???s Henrik Stenson and Englishman Justin Rose are also back in action this week.

???I’m looking forward to the week, as always,??? said Stenson. ???It’s great to be back here in Abu Dhabi. It’s a great golf course, and I’ve been second twice. My game feels in pretty good shape at this time.???

Rose said: ???It’s a really good place to start the season. It???s a good golf course, it’s good in condition.

???You get reliable conditions out here in the Middle East which I think is very important when you’re trying to get a read on your game early in the season.???
