Kokrak goes wild at AT&T Byron Nelson

Jason Kokrak backed up his opening round of 66 with a scintillating 62 on Friday to continue his dominance at TPC Four Seasons Las Colinas.

Kokrak’s round was made up of eight birdies and no dropped shots on the par-70 layout.

The TPC Four Seasons Las Colinas track suits bombers and Kokrak is certainly one of those.

His length off the tee was astonishing at times. This season Kokrak, who has never won a PGA event, is averaging over 300 yards with his driver, making him the 14th biggest hitter on Tour.

His impressive ball striking has seen him race five shots clear at the top of the leader board.

While that is a sizeable lead at a tournament of this prestige, Kokrak is not getting ahead of himself.

“I’m more than happy to be out here and doing what I love – hanging out with the guys and being able to play golf and see the most beautiful places in the world,” he said.

“But yeah, I’d like to get that first win.”

The burly 31-year-old will have his work cut out for him though if he is get off the mark on Sunday. Among those in the chasing pack are Billy Horschel (five shots back), Dustin Johnson (six shots back) and Jason Day (nine shots back).

Jordan Spieth missed the cut after two horrible drives on the 16th.
