The world No 1 is at Wentworth this week to defend his BMW PGA Championship title over the West Course in Surrey.
Asked about his chances in the major championships this season, the 26-year-old from Northern Ireland said: “I’m just trying to win as much as I can.
“There are three majors left and I feel two of those venues could suit me – St Andrews (The Open) and Whistling Straits (US PGA Championship).
“Chambers Bay at the US Open is a bit of an unknown quantity. But there are two great opportunities for major titles and a lot of other opportunities for wins.
“I’d also like to increase my lead in the World Ranking.”
And looking back on the past year, which has seen him take over as the world’s best player, he added: “The last 12 months have been incredible.
“I’ve put the hard work in and it’s really paid off Seven wins in the last 12 months and I’m just trying to keep it going.”
But which event did he enjoy most? “Even with all the personal success I???ve had over the past year, the Ryder Cup was the most enjoyable week.”
