Jodi Ewart Shadoff and Sei Young Kim are two shots further back on 11 under, with Shadoff on the final hole while Kim has five to finish.
Yang was flawless around the wet course, carding four birdies and a superb eagle on the par five seventh.
"My shot was good…you know, I'm hitting good all week," the 27-year-old said after the round.
"Tomorrow again I'll, you know, finish third round. I'll try to do just one shot at time, hole by hole."
Players will finish off their third rounds early on Sunday morning before starting the final round, with the last group teeing off before 12 noon HKT.
