What are the odds? Hitting a spectator with an errant drive is pretty rare, but finding out the spectator is your girlfriend is even rarer.
Certainly most golfers will probably hit an innocent bystander at some point during their careers, but that’s usually where any relationship between the two parties ends.
During last week’s Genesis Open, Belgian European Tour pro Thomas Pieters was very surprised to find out that his drive had not only hit someone, but that a very special someone in the form of his girlfriend.
Thankfully, she was only hit in the back, and was none the worse for wear, but Pieters was still very apologetic, as you’d expect after striking your significant other with a high speed projectile.
All’s well that ends well, however, and the couple were able to share a hug, a kiss and a laugh afterwards.
It's not everyday you witness a pro golfer @thomaspietersgolf hit his girlfriend off the tee with his drive. Hope Eva is OK!!!
