Chris Paisley moved into the lead at the rain-delayed Italian Open after carding 63 in the second round at Monza.
Englishman Paisley ended the day 13-under, one stroke ahead of Masters champions Danny Willett, with fellow compatriot Chris Hanson a futher stroke back.
Sweden’s Rikard Karlberg, who is defending champions, is tied with Hanson after a round of 67, while yet another Englishman, Chris Wood is in fifth.
Play had been suspended on Friday following heavy rain and the threat of lightning.
Karlberg led after the first round but now faces the prospect of playing 36 holes on Saturday.
“If we had a dry night and some reasonable weather over the weekend, then we could still get four rounds in and finish on time on Sunday night,” tournament director David Williams told the European Tour website.
