Jang saunters to title in Singapore

Jang Ha-na cruised clear of the field on the back nine on Sunday to register a four-shot victory at the HSBC Women’s Champions.

The gifted South Korean closed with a seven-under-par 65 for a 19-under total to claim her second LPGA victory of the season. Her first was the Coates Golf Championship in Florida last month.

Playing like she had been on tour all her life, the 23-year-old prodigy fired six birdies and an eagle in an exhibition on how to close out a tournament.

Her playing partner on Sunday, Thailand’s Pornanong Phatlum, finished with a bogey-free 68 to take outright second at 15-under while South Korea’s Amy Yang birdied the last hole for a 71 to take third place with 11-under.

World number one Lydia Ko was 12 shots adrift of the winning score despite a tidy three-under par 69 in her fourth round.
