Southeast Asia’s fickle weather forced the organisers of the Singapore Open to delay the completion of the final round until Monday.
Jordan Spieth was visibly frustrated as he was forced to trudge off the 17th green before he could attempt a birdie putt that would have put him within a single stroke of the tournament leader, Song Young-han.
Young-han faces a tricky 12 foot par putt on 16 when he returns on Monday. The opening minutes of play could well see both players tied on 11-under-par.
The world number one was set to fly home on Sunday after a taxing global tour saw him participate in five tournaments that were all hosted by different countries.
“It is what it is. I will come back tomorrow and try and win this thing,” he said.
“I was due to leave tonight but next week was an off week anyway so we have changed the travel schedule and I will be there early tomorrow to try and finish this off.”
