Formula 1 action returns this week and we’re off to China for round three of the 2016 season.

Where: Shanghai

Weather forecast: Racing will get underway in overcast conditions on Friday with a high of 21°C. Rain could cause problems on Saturday when the forecast high is 20°C, but overcast conditions are expected to return on Sunday with a high of 21°C forecast.

The circuit: Shanghai International Circuit

According to circuit architects Hermann Tilke and Peter Wahl, the “the 5.4-kilometre racing track is shaped like the Chinese character ‘shang’, which stands for ‘high’ or ‘above’.”

Tyre allocation:

DRS Zones: The long back straight with the activation point before the turn 14 hairpin and the detection point in turn 12. The second DRS zone is on the start/finish straight.
