There’s some good news for Valtteri Bottas after Niki Lauda declared that next year’s W09 will suit his driving style.
Bottas has managed just three podium results since F1 returned from the summer break, despite team-mate Lewis Hamilton claiming five race wins.
Hamilton wrapped up his fourth world title last Sunday in Mexico while Bottas has been left to fight Sebastian Vettel for second.
However, there is some good news for the Finn.
“At the start, the car was suitable for both drivers,” Mercedes non-executive chairman Lauda told C More.
“But through development it became more suitable for Lewis’s driving style.
“The reason for what happened is more our fault than Valtteri’s.
“The car for the coming season will suit not only Lewis’ but also Valtteri’s driving style.”
