Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly made an offer for Juventus legend Gianluigi Buffon to continue his career by tabling a lucrative two-year deal.
Buffon received an emotional farewell from his former club having won a seventh Scudetto with Juve earlier in May. It appeared he may be about to retire from the game although he may now extend his playing days with PSG.
The Parisians are said to have offered the 40-year-old a contract which doubles the salary he was previously earning with the Italian giants.
In addition, Manchester United and Real Madrid were said to have expressed an interest earlier in 2017/18, however, it now seems likely he could end his playing days with the French Ligue 1 champions.
According to Italian publication Calcio Mercato, an offer of €8 million in terms of an annual salary has been made which lasts until at least the end of the 2019/20 campaign.
The veteran’s agent Silvano Martina has revealed that the shot-stopper has been offered a role in Bianconeri’s boardroom, though he would accept a move to Paris.
Speaking to Le Parisien, he said: “We would be happy if Gigi came to Paris next season.”
In 17 seasons with Juventus, the retired former Italy number one made a record-setting 656 appearances while winning virtually every trophy available in football.
