Manchester United haven’t spent heavily on their squad so far. The Red Devils have brought in two new players – Daniel James and Aaron Wan Bissaka – and remain in talks with several others. And now, reports suggest that a new target has been added to the list!
According to The Times, via Daily Mail, Manchester United are ready to pay 70 Million for Lille star Nicolas Pepe. The Ivorian is on the list of several top clubs but the Red Devils have seemingly raced ahead after advancing their discussions with the French club.
Furthermore, the report states that Liverpool, who at one point were leading the race for Pepe, have fallen behind as they are yet to make an offer for the player. They have, however, contacted the Ligue 1 star’s representatives.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils remain in the hunt for Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes. Both players have been touted as key transfer targets for the club – ones which they would like to get over the line before the deadline.
FOX Sports Asia Probability Rating: 2/5; Not much in this rumour at the moment although it will be interesting to see whether this gains pace over the next few weeks. Several reports have claimed that the Red Devils are currently fixated on Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes. And those two players look the most likely to come through the gates of Old Trafford before the English transfer window deadline.
