Reports: PSG line up blockbuster move for Manchester City playmaker in the summer

Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva

French money-bags Paris Saint Germain are reportedly casting glances at Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva. A little light on creative options in midfield, the Parisians are perhaps looking to add more incision to their already fearsome attacking line-up.

According to Don Balon, the French club run the risk of losing  Neymar and Kylian Mbappe if they do not improve their squad.  The 24-year-old who has been quite sensational for Manchester City this season has 12 goals to show for his efforts, but the player’s qualities should not be measured in simple terms.

The midfielder offers control and guile with his wonderful passing range and intelligent movement. He can also play from out wide, grazing the touch-line if need be or cutting in from out wide if the opportunity so arises.

A dynamic player, quite accustomed to the rhythms of Ligue 1 football, Silva offers quality in central areas presently lacking in the French club. Real Madrid is also reportedly interested in the elegant left-footer but Perez is unwilling to cough up anything in excess of €70 million.

Guardiola will be adamant to keep hold of the player. The Portugal international has improved greatly under the Catalan’s tutelage and is perhaps one of the first names on the team-sheet.

Fox Sports Probability Rating: 1/5; We don’t see it happening, just do not. Bernardo Silva has slotted in seamlessly into Pep’s tactical architecture and seems too pleased to be working under the Catalan to up sticks to Paris. Further, the Premier League isn’t quite the walk in the park the Ligue 1 has come to resemble. Add to this, City’s heartbreak in the Champions League and Silva has enough reason to remain in the East of Manchester. To add further fuel, Silva made the switch to Manchester from the sunny climes of Monaco. Wonder why he’d leave the stirring world of Premier League football for the staid staple of Ligue 1 domination.
