Barcelona are reportedly preparing a bid for Marcus Rashford and are willing to offer one of two players as makeweight in a swap deal, knowing that Manchester United will not sell easily.
Marcus Rashford’s current deal at Manchester United runs till the end of the 2019/20 season and as yet, the English forward has not penned a new one.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are looking to capitalize on that to try and bring the Manchester United youth academy product to the Nou Camp. However, they are also acutely aware of the English club’s reluctance to sell their homegrown star.
How will Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revamp Manchester United?
Manchester United’s keen interest in playmaker Philippe Coutinho could be used to Barcelona’s advantage in this situation as the report states that the Catalan club may thrust the Brazilian into the deal as a sweetener should he want to leave the club at the end of the season.
However, should Coutinho not signal his interest to join United or, indeed, even leave Barcelona, the La Liga champions are keen to ensure that a potential deal for Marcus Rashford doesn’t fall through by including Malcom in a swap deal.
The report also states that in addition to a player, there may also be money exchanging hands between the clubs should the deal come to fruition.
FOX Sports Asia probability rating: 1/5; Manchester United will not sell Marcus Rashford, especially at the end of this season.
