Reports: Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos against move for Zinedine Zidane’s favoured target

Real Madrid is reportedly sizing up an offer for Mohamed Salah. The Liverpool winger is allegedly on Zinedine Zidane’s sight line but incredibly the Frenchman’s overtures are being vetoed by his captain Sergio Ramos.

Los Blancos are looking to rebuild over the summer. A deeply frustrating season has been exacerbated by the poor form of many of their players. While Marco Asensio looked the real deal last season- and he might still be it- he has been underwhelming during the campaign.

It hasn’t deterred Liverpool from casting admiring glances at the player. Klopp is reportedly quite keen on bringing the left-footer to Merseyside to add more fizz to an already bubbling side. According to Don Balon, in case a deal was to go through, the Spanish giants are likely to claim Salah in exchange.

However, Ramos is reported to have raised objections to the club wafting about in the Anfield air for the Egyptian.  The Spaniard’s little skirmish with the winger in last season’s Champions League final has perhaps soured relations between the two and it’s hardly surprising that the Spaniard opposes any such dalliances, if true.

FOX Sports probability rating: 2/5 – I’d not put it past Madrid to stump up a cheeky bid for Salah, or anybody they fancy. However, Don Balon fishes out stories when none exists. While not beyond the bounds of possibility, wait for a more reliable source to get your laughs at Ramos’ expense.
