Young Portuguese sensation Joao Felix is one of Europe’s hottest footballing prospects right now, and both Manchester United and Manchester City are ready to add to the hype by being the latest clubs to express interest on him.
It is Express that reports that both Manchester clubs have joined the battle to secure the services of the young superstar, who is currently valued at a whopping £100million.
Earlier, it was reported that Italian giants Juventus would match the asking price for the 19-year old Benfica star, but the latest above-mentioned development to the transfer saga surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo’s owm countryman means that the Bianconeris will not be allowed to take him away so easily.
On Thursday, eight European clubs including Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea – reportedly sent scouts to watch Felix play against against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League. The youngster responded brilliantly, with an impressive hattrick.
Meanwhile, sources from Benfica indicate that the Portuguese club is ready to sell their star provided any interested club matches their value on him. Felix’s current contract which runs until 2023, notably includes a release clause if €120million (£103million).
